Paul Landacre (1893-1963) studied at the Otis Art Institute. His wood engraving was largely self-taught His unique style of wood engraving combines very fine white lines, delicate cross hatching and flecking in contrast with large dark areas. As seen in "Jungle Storm", Landacre created sensual depiction's of plant, animal and human forms in an increasingly abstract manner. With very few exceptions, Landacre printed all of his own wood engravings and in limited quantities rendering these fine prints rare.
This work is in a raven black 16 1/4" x 16 3/4" frame of half-circles and triangles in base relief stacked in two rows.
