Leonard Baskin (1922-2000), American sculptor and printmaker, was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He studied at New York University, Yale, Academie de la Grande Chaumiere, Paris, and, Accademia delle Belle Arti, Florence. He was awarded the Tiffany fellowship for sculpture and Guggenheim for printmaking. Baskin is widely credited with "re-inventing" the wood-cut after World War II. His works are included in 16 major American Museums.
This work is in a 28 3/8" x 34" frame newly created specifically for this etching featuring a Black troweled wall surface with a "coal like" texture. The 8-ply Khaki outer and 4-ply Photo Gray acid and lignin free mats are protected with Acrylite-AR OP3 (UV) by CYRO ……$1000.00.
